Last week, at the Society for Neuroscience Conference in Washington DC, Neuronetrix announced preliminary results from a clinical study of their COGNISION System to diagnose Alzheimer's disease.
A sensor that has been developed by Sensacoil is as small as or smaller than a grain of dust and may be able to detect the moisture, which currently is costly to discover and even more so if it is not found and removed.
This study used DNA sequencing to examine an outbreak of MRSA in a hospital, to uncover new cases and, as the study developed, to intervene in the outbreak to end it more quickly. Sequencing illuminated each person infected and described the transmission of MRSA between people coming to the hospital and within the hospital.

Now, new findings by a University of Florida Health researcher reveal how the nut's psychoactive chemical works in the brain and suggest that an addiction treatment may already exist.
Some forms of differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) respond to treatment with radioactive iodine, which is taken up by the thyroid gland, destroying the cancerous cells. However patients with two forms of thyroid cancer, radioiodine-refractory DTC and anaplastic thyroid cancer (ATC), do not benefit from radioiodine therapy, and other treatment options are limited.
