Flex today announced that it has acquired Farm Design, a full-service, ISO 13485-certified and FDA-compliant product development company with more than 40 years of experience providing complete development and design services for medical device and diagnostic companies.
Researchers at the University of Illinois at Chicago have found that some preterm babies born without haptoglobin, a protein in blood cells, have higher odds of brain bleeding, cerebral palsy and death. Their findings suggest that the absence of the protein could serve as a potential biomarker indicating a need for increased monitoring or other preventive interventions.
PharmaMar SA has announced the commencement of a Phase I clinical trial with PM060184 for patients with solid tumors. PM060184 is a marine-derived, synthetically-produced compound which has shown strong in vitro and in vivo antitumor activity and a favorable safety profile in preclinical toxicology studies. PM060184 is PharmaMar's sixth compound in clinical development.
Radical prostatectomy in overweight or obese men is a greater technical challenge than in thinner men. A laparoscopic or robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy (RLRP) might be easier.
