While conducting research on cancer, Swapan Ghosh and a team of graduate and doctoral students discovered a phytol-derived adjuvant. That adjuvant formula just became U.S. Patent No. 8,088,395.
Reporting on the largest study of its kind today at the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists 37th Annual Meeting on Women's Cancer, researchers presented new criteria for detecting ovarian cancer malignancy in postmenopausal asymptomatic women, 55 to 74 years old.
The American College of Physicians, which represents about 120,000 internists, in the April 3 issue of the Annals of Internal Medicine recommend that women ages 40 to 49 consult with their doctors about whether to undergo routine mammography screening, the Washington Post reports.
Studies have indicated that people who dye their hair regularly may have a higher risk of cancer, especially bladder cancer and breast cancer.
Sudhir K. Dutta, M.D. head of the Division of Gastroenterology at Sinai Hospital, was awarded the designation "Master of the American College of Gastroenterology" at the ACG's annual scientific meeting today.
