The new Danish-Norwegian study is the first study to document possible adverse events in relation to the COVID-19 vaccine Vaxzevria from AstraZeneca, in which all vaccine recipients have been followed systematically, as opposed to previous studies, which have relied primarily on reported adverse reactions.
Beginning this fall, University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) civil and environmental engineering professor and Water Institute of Texas (WIT) researcher Marcio Giacomoni will embark on a two-year pilot project to partner with San Antonio Water System (SAWS) in identifying reliable and cost effective solutions to reduce the occurrence of capacity-related Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) in the city of San Antonio.
Tiny pores, or channels, embedded in cell membranes are critical to the healthy functioning of cells. Charged atoms, or ions, move through these channels to generate the electrical signals that allow cells to communicate with one another.
A study published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, as part of a special issue "Heart Failure: From Molecular Basis to Therapy", in August 2019, shows that aliskiren, a drug approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), can improve survival for over 5 years, on average, and enhance life quality in patients who have been correctly diagnosed with heart failure.
