Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is leading a project to provide technical assistance to the Libyan government to finalise the development of a national HIV strategy and programme of support. The project is supported by a €1 million grant from the Delegation of the European Commission to Libya.
In order to raise awareness around Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes as well as "Diabulimia", a recently reported condition where young people with diabetes choose not to take their insulin in order to lose weight, NRS Healthcare has created an informational infographic and video.
Low levels of HDL cholesterol, the so-called 'good' cholesterol, are the most common lipid disorder in countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, a new meta-analysis published in eLife shows.
A new study from the Medical Research Council Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit, University of Southampton, shows lesions, which can best be seen on MRI scans, could help identify individuals who are more likely to suffer from more rapidly progressing osteoarthritis.
