A group of researchers from the U.S., the UK, and New Zealand, have apparently found that problem gamblers often display many similar personality traits as people who abuse alcohol, marijuana, and nicotine.
A smartphone-based electrocardiogram (ECG) screening accurately detected previously unknown atrial fibrillation in American Indians, and more than half who were diagnosed with the irregular heart rhythm were younger than the recommended screening age of 65, according to new research published today in the Journal of the American Heart Association, an open access journal of the American Heart Association.
"Spurred by a 2009 directive from President Obama and subsequent guidance from the White House," USAID on Wednesday "issued a new Scientific Integrity Policy to safeguard the quality and integrity of the Agency's scientific and scholarly activities," according to a USAID press release.
