The effect of visit-to-visit blood pressure variability on mortality may be partly caused by changes in average values over time, say researchers.
An innovative quality initiative in the Hudson Valley has resulted in National Committee for Quality Assurance Recognition of 51 primary care practice sites as Level 3 patient-centered medical homes, the highest level achievable. This groundbreaking accomplishment was achieved by 236 physicians within 11 primary care practice groups (7 medical groups with multiple practice locations and 4 single site practices) and represents 44 percent of total Level 3 clinicians in New York, and nearly 10 percent of all practices at this level across the country.
InSightec Ltd, the leader in magnetic resonance imaging guided Focused Ultrasound therapy (MRgFUS), announced that the results of its ExAblate® Phase III clinical trial for treating painful bone metastases have been published online in the JNCI, Journal of National Cancer Institute.
In a new study currently available on the bioRxiv* preprint server, a multinational group of researchers modeled an entire membrane-embedded spike glycoprotein of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and highlighted the potential of a specific mapping approach for unveiling cryptic, potentially druggable pockets on the viral surface.
