BioWa, Inc. (BioWa) and NKT Therapeutics, Inc. (NKTT), announced today that they have entered into an agreement which provides NKTT with access to BioWa's patented POTELLIGENT(®) Technology platform for the development of antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) enhanced antibodies.
The first test to identify acute mountain sickness has been developed by a team of researchers in Italy and France and is presented today at EuroEcho-Imaging 2013. The test could revolutionise trekking and climbing by predicting who will develop the potentially deadly condition so they can avoid high altitudes, ascend more gradually or take preventative medication.
The National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, part of the National Institutes of Health, has funded three new awards and renewed the awards of eight institutions previously funded under the Research Centers in Minority Institutions Specialized Centers program.
Finding a drug that can cross the blood-brain barrier is the bane of drug development for Alzheimer's disease and other neurological disorders of the brain. A new Penn study, published this week in the Journal of Neuroscience, has found and tested in an animal model of Alzheimer's disease a class of drug that is able to enter the brain, where it stabilizes degenerating neurons and improves memory and learning.
"U.N. Development Goals for better drinking water have already been reached, but a closer look shows that the measures fail to truly account for the lack of access to safe water," Scientific American reports in a feature story.
