Alnara Pharmaceuticals, a pharmaceutical company developing novel, non-systemic orally delivered protein therapeutics for the treatment of metabolic diseases, today announced results from an international, Phase 3 open-label, long-term safety study demonstrating the safety and nutritional benefits of liprotamase, a novel pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy (PERT) for patients with cystic fibrosis (CF).
Patients with multiple sclerosis who have breakthrough disease activity early in the course of treatment with interferon beta-1a are at high risk for severe worsening and poor long-term outcomes, research shows.
Merck announced that the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use adopted a positive opinion on the pending Marketing Authorization Application for SYCREST (asenapine) sublingual tablets. The CHMP has recommended that the European Commission grant a marketing authorization for SYCREST for the treatment of moderate to severe manic episodes associated with bipolar I disorder in adults. The CHMP did not support an indication for the treatment of schizophrenia.
