Men with prostate cancer generally make treatment decisions based on differences in the information they receive rather than their own preferences, according to a new review.
Close to 100 different Southern California law enforcement agencies will go head-to-head in the spirit of friendly competition to see which agency can donate the most blood through the American Red Cross in the 4th Annual Battle of the Badges blood drives.
Researchers from Boston University School of Medicine in collaboration with investigators at the University of Utah, have discovered a new approach for identifying smokers at the highest risk for developing lung cancer. The findings, which appear in the April 7th issue of Science Translational Medicine, will allow the researchers to use a genomic approach to prevent lung cancer in these individuals and to personalize cancer chemoprophylaxis and therapy.
RegeneRx Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. announced that it has received a notice from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) indicating that, due to non-compliance with FDA's current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) regulations by its contract manufacturer, the Company's Phase 2 clinical trial of RGN-352, its injectable formulation of Thymosin beta 4 for the treatment of acute myocardial infarction (AMI), has been placed on clinical hold.
A survey of patients admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) has found that patients reporting greater levels of satisfaction with their care and good communication with the health care providers were significantly less like to readmitted to the hospital in the 30 days after discharge.
