Researchers have successfully used bacteriophage (phage) therapy to eliminate alcohol-related liver disease in an animal model.
A research alliance of Heidelberg University Hospital and the German Cancer Research Center, jointly with colleagues of the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research in Leipzig, have discovered a new metabolic pathway which makes malignant brain tumors (gliomas) more aggressive and weakens patients' immune systems.
Babies start breathing in the womb, inhaling and exhaling irregularly at first, and then gradually more and more, until the day when they're born and have to do it all the time. But premature babies sometimes have trouble. They stop breathing periodically, sometimes for 20 or 30 seconds at a time.
ADA Technologies, Inc. received a $70,000 contract from the U.S. Army for Phase I research into the development of a self-contained, integrated, disposable bio sampling platform.
