Like normal tissue, tumors thrive on nutrients carried to them by the blood stream. The rapid growth of new blood vessels is a hallmark of cancer, and studies have shown that preventing blood vessel growth can keep tumors from growing, too. To better understand the relationship between cancer and the vascular system, researchers would like to make detailed maps of the complete network of blood vessels in organs. Unfortunately, the current mapping process is time-consuming: using conventional methods, mapping a one-centimeter block of tissue can take months.
According to the Public Health England, Britain needs to go on a diet with immediate effect to curb the obesity epidemic. The PHE has come up with its new calorie guidelines that would cut the sizes of the meals and remove junk foods. This comes under the newly launched ‘One You' campaign.
In a new study out of China, a wellness program based at the workplace was seen to improve blood pressure control among the participants. The study titled, "Effect of a Workplace-Based Multi-Component Intervention on Hypertension Control A Randomized Clinical Trial," in the latest issue of the journal JAMA Cardiology.
The new generation of oxygen cylinders, with an integrated pressure regulator that calculates and shows remaining time to the exact minute. LIV IQ is also equipped with various visible and audible alerts which enhance patient safety in mobile oxygen therapy. All together, these features free up time for healthcare professionals to concentrate on the patient and enable a cost-effective use of cylinder content.
