Surprising results from a new study revealed that men who smoke had less risk of undergoing total joint replacement surgery than those who never smoked.
This project was a secondary project that came out of a longitudinal cohort study that we've been conducting with the Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston Texas, which is a large, primarily African American mega-church with over fifteen hundred congregation members.
British Columbia families will bear the brunt of the provincial government's failure to adequately fund health care, Health Sciences Association of BC president Reid Johnson said in response to the provincial government's budget introduced today.
A team of researchers, led by Dr. Stephan Schwander, of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - School of Public Health (UMDNJ-SPH), has determined a possible link between exposure to a common component of urban air pollution and a change in the function of important immune cells that protect against the bacteria that cause tuberculosis.
An analysis of published studies found that in individuals with epilepsy, there is a 20.2% prevalence of anxiety disorders and a 22.9% prevalence of depression. Investigators also found no differences in the prevalence of either depression or anxiety based on the severity of illness.
