EntreMed, Inc., today announced the addition of Dana Farber/Harvard Cancer Center (DF/HCC) to the Phase 2 multi-center study entitled "A Phase 2 Study of Oral ENMD-2076 Administered to Patients with Platinum Resistant Ovarian Cancer." Ursula Matulonis, M.D., Associate Professor of Medicine, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School, will serve as principal investigator.
Helix BioPharma Corp. today announced that it has completed its definitive GLP, rodent and primate, repeat-dose toxicology studies with L-DOS47. These studies demonstrated a good safety profile in an expanded number of rodent and primate test animals, building upon Helix's positive findings from its preliminary non-GLP toxicology studies.
Two studies by neurological researchers at Rush University Medical Center suggest that, in the future, colonic tissue obtained during either colonoscopy or flexible sigmoidoscopy may be used to predict who will develop Parkinson's disease, a neurodegenerative disorder of aging that that leads to progressive deterioration of motor function due to loss of neurons in the brain that produce dopamine, a neurotransmitter essential to executing movement.
