In a commentary to be published in the Dec. 12 issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association, two Johns Hopkins faculty members predict an ever-diminishing role for government and drug company funding of basic biomedical research and suggest scientists look to "innovative" kinds of private investment for future resources.
Vejthani Hospital Bangkok brought intelligent medical equipment in Orthopedic Knee Surgery, the so called "Digital lightbox", this can be used to enhance the capability of the Image Guided surgery (Computer Assisted Navigation System) for total joint replacement surgery.
Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have discovered that a protein called Munc13-4 helps cancer cells secrete large numbers of exosomes-;tiny, membrane-bound packages containing proteins and RNAs that stimulate tumor progression.
Using two drugs was no more effective than a single drug in slowing disease progression in people with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD), according to two studies funded by the National Institutes of Health. One of the studies also showed that rigorous blood pressure treatment slowed growth of kidney cysts, a marker of ADPKD, but had little effect on kidney function compared to standard blood pressure treatment.
