AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) today commended United States Senator Bill Nelson (D, FL) for pressing colleagues in the Senate Democratic Leadership to address a funding crisis wreaking havoc with the lives of thousands of people living with HIV/AIDS who are dependent on the nation's AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), a Federal/State program that pays for lifesaving AIDS drugs for low-income Americans.
Microscopic bacteria, which are present in all humans, cluster together and form communities in different parts of the body, such as the gut, lungs, nose and mouth.
Medicare pays hundreds of millions of dollars each year for prescription creams, gels and lotions made-to-order by pharmacies — mainly as pain treatments. But a new report finds that officials are concerned about possible fraud and patient safety risks from products made at nearly a quarter of the pharmacies that fill the bulk of those prescriptions.
Using what they say is a relatively simple method, scientists at Georgetown University Medical Center have extracted stem/progenitor cells from testes and have converted them back into pluripotent embryonic-like stem cells.
