Despite all of the changes in the healthcare industry, customer satisfaction with pharmacies has remained relatively stable, according to the J.D. Power 2015 U.S. Pharmacy Study released today.
An outbreak of whooping cough in New South Wales is causing some concern - the NSW Health Department says infection rates have soared from 2,000 cases last year, to 3,800 cases this year, and the increase is more so in some areas.
"Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, the University of Michigan and the Society of Hospital Medicine have selected 15 physician organizations in Michigan, including eight in Southeast Michigan, to work with 14 hospitals on a project to reduce preventable readmissions and emergency room visits. Called 'Michigan Transitions of Care Collaborative,' the project is based on a model developed by the Society of Hospital Medicine.
After a concussion, a person can be left with disturbed sleep, memory deficits and other cognitive problems for years, but a new study led by Rebecca Spencer at the University of Massachusetts Amherst suggests that despite these abnormalities, sleep still helps them to overcome memory deficits, and the benefit is Frontier in Human Neurosciequivalent to that seen in individuals without a history of mild traumatic brain injury (TBI), also known as concussion.
Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the first interchangeable biosimilar insulin product, indicated to improve glycemic control in adults and pediatric patients with Type 1 diabetes mellitus and in adults with Type 2 diabetes mellitus.
