According to a latest survey from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), the rates of suicides is two times higher for black children aged between 5 and 12 years compared to white children of the same age. The results of the study are published yesterday (21st May 2018) in the latest issue of the journal JAMA Pediatrics.
A new study has concluded that one key part of the immune system, the ability of vitamin D to regulate anti-bactericidal proteins, is so important that is has been conserved through almost 60 million years of evolution and is shared only by primates, including humans - but no other known animal species.
Monteris Medical Inc., a privately held medical device company dedicated to the development of innovative MRI guided, laser-based cancer treatments announced today it has secured $9 million in financing to support the continued commercialization of the company's NeuroBlate System (formerly AutoLITT) within the North American neurosurgery market.
A new study led by Johns Hopkins researchers shows wide racial and economic disparities in access to minimally invasive hysterectomies for early uterine cancer in the United States. This is despite years of accumulating evidence that the procedures to remove the uterus are linked to fewer postoperative complications, the researchers say.
