Survival outcomes for HPV-positive oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck have made significant gains in recent years, but new research in the February 2020 issue of JNCCN-Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network finds some groups are being left behind.
An open-label study of rituximab, a monoclonal antibody for human CD20, was shown to be safe in patients with primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) who had an incomplete response to the standard ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) therapy, also known as Ursodiol.
An international team of researchers has found that many psychiatric disorders share a common and specific set of gene variants.
A Mayo Clinic study has found patients report less back pain at rest and while active following vertebroplasty, a procedure in which medical cement is injected into painful compression fractures in the spinal vertebrae due to osteoporosis. Patients also reported improved function in their daily activities, such as walking, housework and getting dressed. The findings are published in the November/December issue of American Journal of Neuroradiology.
