Researchers from University of Copenhagen and Aarhus University have studied the DNA from the parasite eggs that are recovered from the faeces samples in ancient times.
Solta Medical, Inc., a global leader in the medical aesthetics market, today announced that it has been included on the list of preliminary additions to the Russell 3000® Index and the Russell Global® Index posted by Russell Investments on June 11, 2010 on www.russell.com. These changes are expected to go into effect after the close of trading on Friday, June 25, 2010. All Russell indexes are subindexes of the Global Index.
Scientists at Emory University School of Medicine have identified a new type of anti-inflammatory compound that may be useful in treating a wide range of conditions, including neurodegenerative and autoimmune diseases. These compounds inhibit the enzyme Nox2, part of a family of enzymes responsible for producing reactive oxygen species (ROS).
In this new study, the researchers found that populations living at or near the equator, where there is abundant sunshine (and ultraviolet B irradiance) have low incidence rates of type 1 diabetes. Conversely, populations at higher latitudes, where available sunlight is scarcer, have higher incidence rates.
According to Juniper Research, revenues from remote patient monitoring using mobile networks will rise to almost $1.9 billion globally by 2014, with heart based monitoring in the US accounting for the bulk of early mobile monitoring roll-outs.
