"Bystander Intervention in Cyberbullying" a new study published in the National Communication Association's Communication Monographs reveals specific online conditions under which witnesses to cyberbullying are likely (or unlikely) to intervene in defense of a victim.
President Bush on Saturday in his weekly radio address asked congressional Democrats to send him the fiscal year 2008 Military Construction-Veterans Affairs appropriations bill (HR 2642) in honor of Veterans Day, the AP/Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (Riechmann, AP/Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 11/11).
Baxter International Inc., a global, diversified healthcare company, and ApaTech, a private equity-backed, U.K.-based orthobiologic products company, today announced a definitive agreement whereby Baxter will acquire all of the outstanding equity of ApaTech for total consideration of up to $330 million.
A new study has thrown light on several eating habits that could be linked to obesity. Notable among these are speed of eating, eating after dinner snacks and eating within 2 hours of sleeping. The study titled, "Effects of changes in eating speed on obesity in patients with diabetes: a secondary analysis of longitudinal health check-up data" appeared in the latest issue of the online journal BMJ Open.
Although older adults with serious mental illness didn't have more recorded physical illness and had fewer outpatient visits to primary care physicians, they made more medical emergency department visits and had considerably longer medical hospitalizations than older adults without mental illness according to a study conducted by researchers from the Regenstrief Institute and the Indiana University Center for Aging Research.
