Early Intervention Clinic offers support to trauma survivors

The Early Intervention Clinic) at Palo Alto University is offering up to 20 free sessions of counseling or support to eligible participants of a traumatic event. Working in collaboration with the Gronowski Clinic, on El Camino Real in Los Altos, CA they are offering support to trauma survivors as part of a research project that helps identify the best treatment for trauma related stress.

Drug risk disclosures not read due to information overload, condensed version needed

When it comes to risk disclosures made by drug companies in print and television ads, many consumers are not paying attention, according to a recent study by ORC Guideline (an infoGROUP company). The latest study in the company's Under the Skin series found that 41% of US consumers pay little or no attention to risk information presented by pharmaceutical companies in their TV commercials, and only half (50%) pay attention to such disclosures in print ads. This lack of attention is most prevalent among those 55 years of age or older.

Many doctors suggest that whole cow's milk be avoided in the early months of an infant's feeding. Lactation specialists go even further, counseling "mother's milk only" until baby starts eating solid food. But new research from Tel Aviv University says that mothers who feed their babies cow's milk in the first 15 days of life may be protecting their children from dangerous allergies later on.
