In an effort to educate parents about the need to protect children's eye health, Prevent Blindness America, the nation's leading volunteer eye health and safety organization, and Real Kids Shades a leading manufacturer of quality eyewear for infants and children, are teaming up to ensure that 5 million children have healthy eyes for healthy futures. The joint effort supports "Star Pupils," a national program of Prevent Blindness America designed to arm parents with the information they need to help their children achieve a lifetime of healthy vision.
In an effort to improve oral health among Canadian children, Philips, a global leader in health and well-being, today announced a partnership with The Hospital for Sick Children that will see Philips provide its Sonicare Power Toothbrushes to patients in the Hospital's dental clinic.
The 2009 H1N1 influenza virus used a new strategy to cross from birds into humans, a warning that it has more than one trick up its sleeve to jump the species barrier and become virulent.
