A groundbreaking study of couples led by Professor Eduardo Franco, Director of McGill University's Cancer Epidemiology Unit, in collaboration with a team of colleagues from McGill and Universit- de Montr-al/Centre Hospitalier de l'Universit- de Montr-al (CHUM), found more than half (56 per cent) of young adults in a new sexual relationship were infected with human papillomavirus (HPV).
In a large scale Australian study, researchers have found that Aspirin can save lives and drastically reduce rates of stroke and heart attack.
The leukemia stem cell-the root cause of all acute leukemias- represents a small population of cells in patients that are difficult to eliminate with standard treatments available today. Though current chemotherapy can produce temporary remission in leukemia survivors, they remain at risk of experiencing a recurrence and dying from the disease.
In a review published in the Annals of Global Health, doctors warn of the impending public health crisis brought on by climate change and call for action to help prepare the world for what is ahead.
