Women who are desperately trying to get pregnant might want to avoid complementary and alternative medicine. The common belief is that it won't hurt to try alternative fertility treatments before reverting to in vitro fertilization (IVF). But a new study from Denmark finds that the success of IVF treatment is 30% lower among women who have used alternative medicine.
Scientists have discovered that people who regularly sleep for more than 11 hours or less than 4 hours are 2-3 times more likely to have the incurable disease, pulmonary fibrosis, compared to those that sleep for 7 hours in a day. They attribute this association to the body clock.
AstraZeneca announced today that, as of August 9, it had reached agreements in principle on monetary terms with attorneys representing approximately 17,500 SEROQUEL product liability claimants in the United States for approximately $198 million. The agreements in principle are subject to agreement on non-monetary terms.
Some antibiotics appear to be effective against a form of skin cancer known as melanoma. Researchers at KU Leuven, Belgium, examined the effect of these antibiotics on patient-derived tumours in mice. Their findings were published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine.
