The CPR Improvement Working Group, formed to help improve cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skill performance, today announced the results of the first-ever, multi-national attitudinal survey concerning the performance of CPR by healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses and paramedics. Cardiogenesis Corporation, today announced that it has submitted an IDE (Investigational Device Exemption) to the Food and Drug Administration to initiate a safety and feasibility trial for its PHOENIX System in patients with refractory angina. Recently published prospective cohort study by Dr. Jenni Kulmala and co-workers from the Gerontology Research Center (GEREC) at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, provides strong evidence that perceived work-related stress in midlife predicts functional limitations and disability later in old age.
Jennerex, Inc., a private, clinical-stage biotherapeutics company focused on the development and commercialization of first-in-class targeted oncolytic immunotherapies, today announced that the first patient has been treated in a Phase 2 clinical trial of intravenous treatment with JX-594 for patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), or liver cancer, who have not received treatment with sorafenib—the current standard of care for this patient population.
