In a new program at the 2014 iaedp Symposium in St. Petersburg, Florida (February 26-March 2), keynote speakers, Carolyn Costin, MFt, MA, MEd, CEDS and Joan Borysenko, PhD, will share their insights on the integration of science, psychotherapy and spirituality.
Scientists have found a way to distinguish between two progressive neurodegenerative diseases, Parkinson's disease and multiple system atrophy, using a technology developed by a researcher at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
The European Society for Medical Oncology has awarded ESMO Designated Center of Integrated Oncology and Palliative Care accreditation to 16 new oncology centers. The centers will receive the acknowledgment at the ESMO 2012 Congress, in Vienna, Austria, 28 September - 2 October.
On September 30, the U.S. Senate voted to adopt a measure aimed at rewarding healthy behavior as part of the Obama Administration's overall healthcare reform legislation. The Senate Finance Committee voted for a bi-partisan amendment that would allow health plans to provide financial incentives for people to quit smoking, exercise more and engage in other healthy activities.
One of the biggest risk factors for liver, colon or stomach cancer is chronic inflammation of those organs, often caused by viral or bacterial infections. A new study from MIT offers the most comprehensive look yet at how such infections provoke tissues into becoming cancerous.
