Patients with bipolar disorder regulate their emotions differently from those with major depressive disorder in both depressed and remitted states, a study shows.
On Friday, Aug. 23, the University of Alabama at Birmingham Comprehensive Cancer Center celebrated the public grand opening of the renovated Lurleen B. Wallace Tumor Institute (WTI).
A team of scientists at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and Baylor College of Medicine, led by Eric Boerwinkle, Ph.D., Richard Gibbs, Ph.D., and Bing Yu, Ph.D., have identified powerful predictors of congestive heart failure, a major cause of hospitalization and death in the United States.
Nanoparticle delivery of diphtheria toxin-encoding DNA selectively expressed in ovarian cancer cells reduced the burden of ovarian tumors in mice, and researchers expect this therapy could be tested in humans within 18 to 24 months, according to a report in Cancer Research, a journal of the American Association for Cancer Research.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), children today are using too much toothpaste to brush their teeth. They add that this can be a concern because of excessive fluoride ingestion among the children.
