Researchers at Karolinska Institutet in Sweden have found a way of using gene expression conserved across species to divide patients with the inflammatory bowel disease ulcerative colitis into two distinct groups.
A daily pinta or a helping of dairy foods protect against the clustering of abnormal body chemistry known as the metabolic syndrome, suggests a study in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health .
Though a worldwide problem, arsenic contamination of drinking water does not have a universal solution.
In the fetus, the blood vessel known as the ductus arteriosus or ductus Botalli bypasses blood from the lung artery to the aorta.
