The Asian American Diabetes Initiative (AADI) at Joslin Diabetes Center has received a $70,089 grant from Tufts Health Plan Foundation to fund Healthy Living for All Seasons, which offers elderly Asians with, or at risk for, diabetes the opportunity to take part in educational workshops and seminars focusing on exercise, improved diet, and the prevention of diabetes complications.
Zargis Medical Corp., a majority-owned subsidiary of Speedus Corp., today announced that the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, a northern California based hospital group that is part of The Department of Veterans Affairs nationwide network of hospitals, recently purchased 15 Zargis Cardioscan systems.
An analysis of data from 2005 through 2008 of nine metropolitan areas in the U.S. indicates that health care-associated invasive methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infections decreased among patients with infections that began in the community or in the hospital, according to a study in the August 11 issue of JAMA.
