NPS MedicineWise has written to child care centres across Australia to enlist their support in responding to the growing problem of antibiotic resistance. Child care staff are well placed to help with education and increase awareness around the misuse of antibiotics in young children.
Using the latest gene sequencing tools to examine so-called epigenetic influences on the DNA makeup of colon cancer, a Johns Hopkins team says its results suggest cancer treatment might eventually be more tolerable and successful if therapies could focus on helping cancer cells get back to normal in addition to strategies for killing them.
Prof. TIAN Chao's group from the Department of Precision Machinery and Instrumentation, University of Science and Technology of China of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has made progress on the photoacoustic imaging for medical science.
A pioneering new study is set to help surgeons repair hearts without damaging precious tissue. A team of scientists from Liverpool John Moores University, The University of Manchester, Aarhus University and Newcastle University, have developed a way of producing 3D data to show the cardiac conduction system - the special cells that enable our hearts to beat - in unprecedented detail.
