Oregon Health & Science University Doernbecher Children's Hospital will lead the next phase of a landmark clinical trial to further assess the safety and preliminary effectiveness of purified human neural stem cells (HuCNS-SC-) as a potential treatment for infantile or late-infantile neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis (NCL), a rare and currently fatal neurodegenerative disorder that affects infants and children.
NanoString Technologies, Inc., a privately held provider of life science tools for translational research and molecular diagnostic products, today announced new results from the combined data analysis of the Austrian Breast & Colorectal Cancer Study Group 8 (ABCSG-8) and Arimidex, Tamoxifen, Alone or in Combination studies.
The Lundquist Institute (TLI) and The Bill & Melinda Gates Medical Research Institute (Gates MRI) executed a license agreement for TLI intellectual property covering a synthetic lung surfactant formulation to be developed for respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) for premature infants in Low- and Middle-Income countries (LMIC).
The Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture has selected Bruker's collaboration partner Diagnosticum to implement a new program to authenticate and identify Hungarian wines.
Despite the reassurances of Pasternak and Hviid in their study, "Use of Proton-Pump Inhibitors (PPI) in Early Pregnancy and the Risk of Birth Defects," featured in the Nov. 24 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine, an epidemiologist from Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM) believes that further studies are needed.
