As one of the most complicated sets of illnesses to treat, eating disorders have mental health, as well as medical and nutritional, aspects. While treatment by a multidisciplinary health-care team is considered the best practice, there is considerable debate over how to most effectively treat eating disorders and who should be on a treatment team.
Warner Chilcott plc today announced a 20,000,000 share secondary offering of its ordinary shares by certain selling shareholders. The selling shareholders include funds affiliated with Bain Capital Partners, DLJ Merchant Banking, J.P. Morgan Partners (advised by CCMP Capital) and Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P., certain other institutional investors and members of the Company's senior management. The offering is being conducted as a public offering pursuant to an effective shelf registration statement under the Securities Act of 1933. The Company will not receive any proceeds from the sale of the shares but will pay the expenses of the offering.
One promising approach to help stem the global HIV epidemic is to give commercial sex workers an HIV medication (such as the drug tenofovir) before they have high risk sex in the hope of reducing their chances of becoming infected, an approach called "pre-exposure prophylaxis" (PREP).
