A new COVID-19 Triple Antibody Test, produced by Attomarker Ltd, a spin-out company from the University of Exeter, could represent the next-generation of rapid and accurate COVID-19 antibody testing.
Over the last few years, researchers have used a type of brain scanning, known as functional magnetic resonance imaging fMRI, to help them map changes in blood flow in the brain and to correlate this with thoughts and behavior. A new way to analyze fMRI data, which could improve is reported in the International Journal of Computational Biology and Drug Design.
"Now, with a leader of the [Muslim] Brotherhood's political arm in Egypt's presidential palace and its members dominating Parliament, some deeply patriarchal views the organization has long taught its members are spilling into public view," the New York Times reports, noting a statement released this week by the Brotherhood objecting to "a proposed United Nations declaration to condemn violence against women."
A new database of more than 4,000 Alzheimer's disease patients who have participated in 11 industry-sponsored clinical trials will be released today by the Coalition Against Major Diseases (CAMD). This is the first database of combined clinical trials to be openly shared by pharmaceutical companies and made available to qualified researchers around the world.
Pointing out that not all coronary artery bypass operations are performed the same way or have equivalent outcomes, cardiothoracic surgeons at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center have found that patients who have blockages of multiple coronary arteries and undergo "complete revascularization" - grafting of arteries to restore blood flow to all affected territories of the heart - have consistently better long-term survival rates than those who have "incomplete revascularization."
