Micronics, Inc., a development-stage company, today announced that the Department of Defense has awarded the company an Applied Research and Technology Development Award under the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command's Polytrauma and Blast Injury project for advancement of its PanNAT system for point-of-care molecular diagnosis of infectious pathogens.
With protein design dating back to the mid-1970s, today's scientists have access to a huge amount of information and tools that they can use to create proteins – such abundant, diverse material, in fact, that the data they need may be hard to find.
Academic researchers have found that breathing motor vehicle emissions triggers a change in high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, altering its cardiovascular protective qualities so that it actually contributes to clogged arteries.
