Marriage is criticized for many things — justly and unjustly — but not heart disease, according to findings of a recent study conducted by researchers at NYU Langone Medical Center.
Glioblastoma is one of the deadliest cancers known to man. While the advent of immunotherapy and other cutting-edge treatments have prolonged life for people afflicted with other types of cancer, the prognosis for glioblastoma has remained relatively constant: just 18 months.
Now, a new study published on the preprint server medRxiv in May 2020 examines the risk of COVID-19 disease in various occupations, showing that as expected, health workers and those in social care occupation are at the highest risk. This should help guide policies to protect and support these occupations during this trying period.
Arizona, California, Illinois and Ohio scored the best marks for hospital care in a new report ... The differences between states are "substantial,'' says Evan Marks, a lead author. "For instance, in Alabama you have a 42% higher risk of dying from a heart attack in a hospital than in Arizona."
