Scientists at Melbourne's Howard Florey Institute have found a protein in the brain that can save neurons from dying after experiencing traumatic brain injury from incidents such as stroke, car accidents and falls.
Premature birth is associated with various life-long problems. Still, many premature children seem to function very well as adults according to a new large and comprehensive study from Norway.
New research, published in Thorax, funded by the Cystic Fibrosis Trust has shown that babies with cystic fibrosis are born weighing less than babies without the condition, even allowing that they are more likely to be born prematurely.
