Lannett Company, Inc. today announced that it has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) of Diethylproprion HCl Tablets, 25 mg. Diethylproprion HCl Tablets, 25 mg, is therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug, Tenuate Tablets, 25 mg, of Watson Pharmaceuticals.
For women with abdominal pain or vaginal bleeding during early pregnancy, patient history and clinical examination alone are insufficient to indicate or eliminate the possibility of ectopic pregnancy, while transvaginal sonography appears to be the single best diagnostic method for evaluating suspected ectopic pregnancy, according to an analysis of previous studies reported in the April 24 issue of JAMA.
A study reviewing 22 years of data on heat illness hospitalizations and deaths in the U.S. Army indicates soldiers remain at risk for exertional heat illness. While hospitalization rates for heat illnesses have declined over this period, cases of heat stroke have increased.
A team led by scientists at The Scripps Research Institute has been awarded $2.1 million by the Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs to study several compounds with the potential to greatly improve the quality of life for those with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig's disease.
