Implantation of artificial discs to treat degenerative disc disease was the subject of multiple presentations earlier this month at the Spine Arthroplasty Meeting in Vienna, Austria, where spine and orthopaedic surgeons from all over the world heard new data about this technology.
The American Academy of Pediatrics updated their guidelines for child passenger safety in April 2011, recommending children stay in rear-facing car seats until the age of two. But a new report from the C.S. Mott Children's Hospital National Poll on Children's Health shows that many parents turn their child's seat to face forward before their second birthday.
Almirall, S.A. (ALM:MC) and Forest Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE:FRX) today announced positive topline results from AUGMENT/COPD, the second six-month pivotal phase III clinical trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of investigational fixed dose combinations of aclidinium bromide (LAMA) and formoterol fumarate (LABA) for the treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), delivered in the Pressair™ inhaler (Genuair® outside the USA).
Routine oral care to treat gum disease may play a role in reducing inflammation and toxins in the blood and improving cognitive function in people with liver cirrhosis.
