An international team of scholars studied how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted Europeans' stress levels and their trust in their national governments and the healthcare systems.
Medicaid spending increased to $276 billion by fiscal year (FY)2003, up one-third from FY2000, according to a new web-exclusive article released today by the peer-reviewed journal Health Affairs and commissioned by the Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured.
UK research indicates that children with asthma and eczema are significantly more likely to have psychotic experiences during adolescence, boosting a previously reported relationship between schizophrenia and atopic disorders.
The Washington Post: "Salmonella-infected eggs traceable to a large egg producer in Iowa may have caused as many as 1,200 cases of intestinal illness … The eggs went to distribution companies in 17 states, mostly west of the Mississippi River, but were then sold nationwide. ... Many states, as well as egg-producer associations, have voluntary 'egg quality assurance' programs with guidelines similar to those that are now mandatory. … In healthy people, it rarely causes severe illness.
Results of a retrospective analysis suggest that people born with a heart defect who developed COVID-19 symptoms had a low risk of moderate or severe COVID-19 infection, according to a new article published today in the Journal of the American Heart Association, an open access journal of the American Heart Association.
