American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Global Humanitarian Outreach (GHO) volunteer Megan Olejniczak, M.D., will travel to Rwanda on Monday, October 19, to participate in a teaching program at the two teaching hospitals of the National University of Rwanda in the cities of Kigali and Butare.
Researchers worldwide have been surprised to see that individuals can be infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus - the virus that produces COVID-19 - without showing symptoms. A landmark partnership announced today between Canada's two largest cancer charities, The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society, will raise significant amounts of money towards conquering cancer through the national expansion of Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer.
"Cancer worry" is the fear that cancer will return, said researchers at Moffitt Cancer Center who studied cancer worry among breast cancer survivors and published their findings in Psycho-Oncology. They found that even three years after successful treatment, two-thirds of the 202 breast cancer survivors who participated in their study said they had "a moderate level of worry."
