CardiAQ Valve Technologies (CardiAQ), which performed the first ever Trans-Femoral, Transcatheter Mitral Valve Implantation procedure in June of 2012 with its self-conforming, self-anchoring implant technology, announced today that it has achieved another milestone in cardiovascular medicine by successfully implanting its Second Generation Transcatheter Mitral Valve in an 88-year-old female suffering from severe mitral regurgitation (MR 4+) using the company's newly added Trans-Apical Delivery System.
"U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., told reporters Thursday that Senate Republicans will offer amendments to offset the cost of a 10-year, $247 billion Medicare physician payment bill set for debate next week," according to The Wall Street Journal. The GOP amendments, he said, would "either pay for a one-year fix for Medicare physician payment rates - set to drop 21% in January - or a 10-year fix, possibly paid for with unused funds from the $787 billion fiscal stimulus measure passed earlier this year."
The Valspar Corporation, a leading global manufacturer of paints and coatings, and North Dakota State University announced scholarship and research opportunities for students studying coatings and polymeric materials at NDSU.
Omega-3 fatty acids, such as those typically contained in fish oil, may suppress the growth and spread of breast cancer cells in mice.
