In recent years, fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) has become a widely accepted procedure in the diagnosis of bone lesions. Rapid progress in immunocytochemistry and molecular genetics has increased the role of FNAC in the investigation of primary bone lesions.
Lexicon Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering breakthrough treatments for human disease, announced data from a recently completed clinical trial and mechanistic study of a solid oral dose formulation for LX4211, a dual inhibitor of sodium-glucose co-transporters 1 and 2 (SGLT1 and SGLT2).
In Uganda, child mortality rates are improving, but progress is slower for deaths occurring in the first four weeks of life, or the newborn period, and for stillbirths. But recent evidence from local researchers show that a cost-effective package of care linking families, government-mandated village health teams (a form of community health workers), and health facilities can improve life-saving practices during pregnancy, childbirth and in the first weeks of life; and benefit poorest families the most.
Nile Therapeutics, Inc., a company focused on the development of novel therapeutics for heart failure patients, today announced that it has completed the dose escalation stage of an ongoing Phase II study of CD-NP in patients with acute decompensated heart failure. Nile had previously announced that the study, NIL-CDNP-CT005, was expanded to permit additional dose exploration prior to proceeding to larger Phase II studies.
The Board of Directors of Stereotaxis, Inc. announced today following its regularly scheduled board meeting that it reaffirmed the Company's plans for both the launch of the Epoch platform and expansion of the Odyssey platform into standard labs.
