BioNanomatrix, Inc., a developer of breakthrough single-molecule genomic analysis technology, today announced receipt of two new supplemental grants totaling $833,490 from the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH). The funding is intended to support further commercial development of BioNanomatrix's nanoscale whole genome imaging and analysis platform.
A new study published in the journal American Journal of Psychiatry reports that the use of cannabis for non-medical indications is much more common in adults who have pain than in others. This includes those who use marijuana very often or heavily enough to be considered to have a problem with dependence.
To investigate how information of different visual features is processed in the brain, the neuroscientists from the German Primate Center - Leibniz Institute of Primate Research in Göttingen, Germany, the Iran University of Science and Technology and the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences in Tehran, Iran measured the activity of individual nerve cells in the brain of rhesus monkeys, while the animals performed a visual perception task.
