PharmaDerm, a division of Nycomed US Inc., announced today that VEREGEN (sinecatechins) Ointment, 15%, a topical medication for the treatment of external genital and perianal warts, has been added as a new therapeutic option in the 2010 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Sexually Transmitted Diseases Treatment Guidelines.
Sarah A. Tishkoff, PhD, David and Lyn Silfen University Associate Professor, will present "Evolutionary History of Modern Humans in Africa," at the 2009 American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) annual meeting in Chicago, as a part of the Sunday, February 15th session, "Studying Vertebrate Genomes: Reading Evolution's Notebooks."
Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued a Letter to Health Care Providers to alert them that the agency is aware of an increasing number of medical device reports associated with the use of surgical staplers for internal use and implantable surgical staples-;common devices used in many surgeries-;and to provide updated recommendations to help reduce risks associated with their use.
