Cardiola AG announced today that the Company's CE-Marked m.pulseĀ® Muscular CounterPulsation ("MCP")-based system demonstrated "an immediate improvement of cardiac output with non-invasive means" in a patient population of advanced yet stable chronic heart failure. A gene that can cause congenital heart defects has been identified by a team of scientists, including a group from Princeton University. The discovery could lead to new treatments for those affected by the conditions brought on by the birth defect.
Polyplus-transfection SA, a privately-held company developing innovative technologies for molecular and cellular biology, announces today that it has granted two agencies of the United States National Institutes of Health a non-exclusive, research license to use Polyethylenimine (PEI) for in vitro transfection applications. The two agencies are the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the National Cancer Institute.
