More than 2,000 people have died of cholera in Haiti since late October, Haitian officials said on Monday, the Associated Press/Washington Post reports (12/6). While the transplant field has been highly successful at reducing rejection and graft loss in the first year, post-transplant, reducing risk for graft rejection in the long-term has proved more difficult.
Researchers at Penn Medicine report in the December 25 issue of JAMA that a modified form of prolonged exposure therapy - in which patients revisit and recount aloud their trauma-related thoughts, feelings and situations - shows greater success than supportive counseling for treating adolescent PTSD patients who have been sexually abused.
