Charles River Laboratories International, Inc. announced today that it has implemented an accelerated stock repurchase (ASR) program to repurchase $300 million of common stock, as part of its previously announced authorization from its Board of Directors to repurchase up to $500 million of common stock. The new ASR program will enable the Company to facilitate, on a more timely and cost efficient basis, the repurchase of a substantial number of its shares pursuant to that stock repurchase authorization.
In a study published in the journal PNAS scientists of the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases present new findings on the role of the protein Tau in certain brain diseases.
Researchers at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center have teased out two distinct sets of risk factors for head and neck cancers, suggesting that there are two completely different kinds of the disease.
Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated today announced that it will receive $155 million in cash from two financial transactions. In the first transaction, Vertex will receive approximately $120 million in cash for the issuance of notes repayable no later than October 31, 2012 in the total amount of $155 million.
