OrSense Ltd., developer of monitors for non-invasive measurements of various blood parameters, presented today at the AABB Annual Meeting & CTTXPO 2010, in Baltimore, Maryland, results showing that hemoglobin (Hb) measurements obtained by its NBM 200, a non-invasive Hb measurement system for anemia screening, showed accurate performance compared with invasive point of care (POC) devices.
Las Vegas-based Clitoraid, a non-profit, all-volunteer organization initiated by Rael, founder and leader of the International Raelian Movement, announced Friday that its second round of female genital mutilation (FGM) reversal surgeries will take place March 2-3 in Trinidad, Colo.
Mothers who drink alcohol while they are pregnant may be damaging the fertility of their future sons, according to new research to be presented at the 26th annual meeting of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology in Rome today (Tuesday 29 June).
Researchers are now understanding in greater detail the molecular machinery underlying the short-term brain changes that produce the high of cocaine, as well as the longer-term changes behind addiction. Their findings offer hope for targeted drugs that can short-circuit that addiction machinery.
A recent Federal Circuit Court decision confirms that universities do not automatically have the right to claim ownership of a faculty researcher's federally funded invention.
