The Center for Attention Deficit and Learning Disorders announces today that it has added Hemoencephalography (HEG) to its list of treatment options for patients with ADD/ADHD, learning disabilities, mood disorders and other conditions.
Headaches, a virtually universal human complaint at one time or another, are among the top reasons for medical evacuation of military personnel from Iraq and Afghanistan, and for ongoing depletion of active-duty ranks in those countries, according to research led by Johns Hopkins specialists. Just one-third of soldiers sent home because of headaches return to duty in either place, the research shows.
Emerging Healthcare Solutions was encouraged by the latest breakthrough in stem cell research this week when scientists at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center announced that they've grown functioning human intestinal tissue from stem cells for the first time.
People who get the shingles vaccine may have a lower risk of being diagnosed and hospitalized with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to a new medRxiv* preprint study. In about 150,000 people over the age of 50, vaccination for shingles was associated with a 32% reduced risk of severe COVID-19 infection.
